So you know the advertising networks to monetize your blog or website. I know there are many people who are trying to earn money through he blog and many of them are still struggling to make handsome income. I have been through those conditions (still am i in the same condition but now i know the secret!) and during my journey in blogging and article writing at various revenue sharing sites I was able to gain some good insights in this topic. So lets discuss about how to increase the adsense earnings?
In my opinion only three factors are of most important when we consider the earning through Adsense:

1. Uniqueness and originality of your content. Which boosts your page impressions. And if you have these two qualities in your blog you will retain the traffic.
2. Number and positions of advertisement placed on your blog or website.
3. Number of page impressions.

Now all these things depend on each other. That said, uniqueness and originality of content will give you good traffic thereby increasing your page impressions. At this point you need to choose correct add formats and place them at proper places. Because even if you have considerable number of visitors and if they can not see your adds then there are very less chances of them to click any of your adds. So here is list of tips that should be followed to increase your adsense earnings:

1. First of all try to get good traffic to your blog. That be can be achieved by creating unique and original content along with using proper keywords in proper density inside your article. So keyword research and some SEO tips will definitely help you.
2. Use the combination of image and text adds. You know one image is equal to thousand words. Also remember only image adds might give your blog unprofessional look. So just balance them.
3. Try to use standard add units in standard format. They looks professional and are not irretating.
4. Use the tool 'above the fold' which tells you how better your placement is. If your adds above the fold indicated by this tool then you have highest chances of earning through them.
5. Test your adds as being normal user to your site. If you can find them easily then it is good. If you can not find them then try to change the placement of adds.

Also it is not possible to compare the adsense income of two blogs even if they have same traffic amount, because adsense earnings depends upon many factors including visitors path.

So as said earlier there are no particular steps that can be taken to increase your adsense earnings; though the only one way is to keep trying and keep experimenting until you start earning some good income from your blog.
