Sachin R Kukale - 08:42
There is one good news for everyone! Now you can run Android applications on your Windows, Mac or Linux and that you inside your favourite browser Chrome! Yes this is true and there is Chrome applications called "ARC Welder App" and it is developed and released by Google. But this is not topic for the current article. In this article we are going to discuss about the top five Android emulators that can be used on Windows 7.
Many people ask questions about how to run WhatsApp in Windows PC? How to play Android games in Windows PC? In this article you will get answers about all these questions. After reading this article not only you will be able to run particular Android application or game in your Windows laptop but you can simulate whole Android OS in your Windows PC or laptop. These Android simulators creates a virtual environment which is identical to Android operating system which enables us to run the Android apps or games using that virtual environment.

  1. BlueStacks:
  2. BlueStacks is perfect Android emulator for your Windows PC! It is the best in it's category due to various customizing features. You can run almost all the Android applications using bluestack. Using blusatcks is also very simple and any new user can also use it easily. If you are inside the bluestack it is like your are running Android PC or whatever you may think. But it is great application. There is one built-in application in Bluestacks full version (I am not sure about whether it is available in free version!) called 'AppSettings' where you can decide whether the application or game will be displayed in tablet version or in smartphone version. This is one of the best features of this app as sometimes it is difficult to use the app in smartphone version. Another feature is fullscreen mode. You can go completely full screen hiding the entire windows desktop by clicking on icon which is placed at bottom right corner besides the close icon. The only disadvantage of this app is it plays lot of paid advertisements in free version and you have to (there is no choice for it in free version!) download their sponsored applications thought besides that you can download other applications from playstore also.

  3. YouWave:
  4. YouWave is another is such Android emulator which completely free! In this emulator also it is possible to run almost all the Android applications and it runs applications in smartphone like screen only! So giving you the more feel of using Android application on smartphone. But the disadvantage of this emulator is that you have to download the Android applications files in '.apk' format and then you can install those files in YouWave. This may be difficult for the newbies but sometimes you have to do some extra work. Another disadvantage of this emulator is that it does not support the full screen mode which is quiet inconvenient while using some applications which are specially designed for smartphone screen.

  5. GenyMotion:
  6. GenyMotion is another Android emulator in market with large screen support but not fullscreen like Bluestacks. But when it comes comes to performance it can comepte directly with our top Android emulator Bluestacks. In this emulator is is also possible to run almost all the Andorid applications including whatsapp and many games. The main advantage of this emulator over Bluestacks is that it has the resizable window which is not supported in Bluestacks. Though in bluestacks screen size will be changed depending upon the version of app you are playing (tablet or phone) it is not possible to resize the screen in bluesatcks. The application free for personal use but with limited features and if you want application with all the features then you have buy the paid version by spending 24.99 pounds per user per months which is quite not affordable though it comes with advanced features like hardware accelrator and OpenGL support. You will not need to install the virtual machine software to use this it will run on that virtual machine only!

  7. Windroy:
  8. Windroy is Android simulator for Windows PCs as its name suggests! Windroy is unique in the sense that it runs the Android OS on Windows kernel. So you won't need to install the extra software for using the Windroy. Another thing you must remember while installing Windroy is that you must include any spaces in its installation directory path. It supports the playstore so you can download any Android application directly from the playstore.

  9. Xamarin Android Player:
  10. Xamarin is quite unpopular Android OS simulator for Windows. It is good and has performance capablities which keeps it in the top list. The two more important things about Xamarin are it is free to use and it supports both Windows and Mac OS equally. So now you have the chance to run your favourite Android applications on Mac OS also! Xamarin plays Android OS very efficiently with support to playstore which will be helpful for the new users in this category.
Using Android OS simulation is quite useful. You can check the performance of application before using it on your phone. You can also use the space available on your laptop/PC as Android devices has the limited space availability.
The other you can play andorid apps on your Windows PCs is by using the Android player which comes with Androdi Developer Studio or you can install Android player in your eclipse also. But these kind of ways are mainly for developers and end users may not want to get involved themselves in these things. It is quite difficult to install and manage such players but if you are Android developer then it is the best thing since it includes many customizing options like choosing the phone model to measure the performance of application you have created.
