Sachin R Kukale - 04:50
Here we will discuss the common problem faced by most of us after upgrading our PC/Laptop to a higher configuration. Due availability of large no of tutorials and variety of online shopping portals who are providing such parts of computer; many users want to upgrade their system on their own. But it may be too risky; so please do not open the system if you do not have previous experience/knowledge or if experienced is not with you.
The on common problem faced after system upgradation or after upgrading the RAM or memory is annoying error message 'Failure to boot'. This problem may cause due to various problems such as:
  1. Faulty placement of RAM in slot.
  2. If your system does not support that much amount of RAM.
  3. If the RAM is not compatible with your system.
There may be other reasons for this error but above three are the main reasons behind this error. Such errors are very annoying and and you might think it is very difficult to solve them but actually you can solve this error with very simple steps. After all if you can not start your OS then no use of Laptop. So here are some solutions to this error:
  1. If you are not able to boot up your system after upgrading the RAM then faulty placement of RAM in slot is the cause of this problem. In this situation when start your system you will get long beeps from the system and this indicates that you have not place your RAM in slot properly.
The angle at which the RAM should be inserted properly in slot is 30-50 Degrees. So if you are maintaining this angle while placing the RAM in slot this problem will be solved. There is no need to measure the angle accurately and you can do it just removing the RAM from its slot and placing it again in the slot.
  2. IF you have more than one slots for placing the RAM in your system then you can try shuffling the placement of RAMs in these slots. This solution also works fine to solve 'Failure to boot' problem most of the times.
  3. The next possible reason for such kind of error is that either of your RAM or its slots have problems. If this the reason behind your 'Failure to boot' error then you have to go your nearest repairing center. At least you have to change the faulty device i.e.either RAM or its slots
  4. Another reason may be the fact that you have not chosen correct RAM for your systems. Currently in market there are quite few types of RAM such as DDR2, DDR1, DDR3 etc. If your system does not support DDR3 RAM and if you are upgrading your system with DDR3 RAM then your will system will give the error message and in this case you have to buy the proper type of RAM for your system.
Hope these solutions will help you to solve your problem. Would like to know more problems from you!!!
